Cambie Hostel Vancouver Review

August 21, 2016

Vancouver is one of the most beautiful cities in the world.  It is said you can go sailing in the morning and skiing in the afternoon.  It is a young city with most of the development growing in the last 30 years.  Saying this though, the area of Gastown has some great stories of how it was founded.  Staying in this area will get you to the real Vancouver.  The Cambie Hostel in Gastown can be found here.

Location: Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada.

Date of Stay: September, 2016.

Price Range: CAD$30-$83

  • Good Location to Gastown and from Waterfront Station

  • 24 hour reception

  • One of the cheaper places to stay in Vancouver

  • Free coffee and muffin for breakfast

  • It is noisy from the street traffic and drunk people leaving the downstairs bar

  • No elevator

  • There was no hot water

  • No scales to weigh luggage before going to the airport

  • No common kitchen

Final Thoughts

This is one of the cheaper options to stay in Vancouver.  You generally don’t combine the words Vancouver and cheap together in the same sentence but this could be the exception.  If you are wanting a good nights sleep, then probably don’t choose the Cambie.  The noise from the pub can be heard and the street outside is busy with people.  If you want somewhere cheap and are in Vancouver to party, then the Cambie is for you.

Itchy Feet Escapades rates the Cambie Hostel 28 out of 40 Itchy Feet.
