Australian slang

July 15, 2016

"Just in the ute about to chuck a U-ey to head back to Maccas but have Acca Dacca on so can't hear ya"

Did you understand any of the above sentence?  If not, it looks like your Aussie slang needs a bit of a tune up.  When you visit the land down under, you will in deed come across some unusual language which you may not hear in other parts of the world.  The dialect has evolved over the last 200 years with influence from around the globe.  If you are trying to understand some of the words, the biggest tip is to try and lengthen the word ie Brekky is actually breakfast and sunnies is Sunglasses.  This is how kids learn the alphabet in Australia!
