Montreal Central Hostel Review

October 1, 2015

Montreal is a fusion of French and English.  The city leans more towards the French side of things but does cater for tourists.  It was the home to the 1976 Summer Olympics and annually hosts a F1 race.  Located only a couple of hours away from Ottawa, it is the largest city in the Quebec region.

Location: Montreal, Canada.

Date of Stay: September, 2015.

Price Range: $20 - $120 CAD

Montreal is a city famed for being a great place to visit.  The Montreal Central Hostel provides a range of room types including 4, 6 and 8 shared dorm rooms along with five different types of private rooms.  Whether you are staying for a night or visiting Montreal for one of the many festivals, use this review to determine if this is the right place for you.

- Facilities are clean

- Private fridge in each room

- 5 minute walk from the Bus station

- 2 blocks from supermarket and liquor store

- Friendly and knowledgeable staff

- The kitchen is small and can get quite cramped when more than one person is using the facilities.

Final Thoughts

This is a great place to stay whilst visiting Montreal.  It is in a convenient location to the central bus station and close to a Metro line.  There is a large area which incorporates the reception, dining room and kitchen.  You can’t BYO into the communal area but the beers are fairly cheap, two for $6 for a local brew.  The hostel isn’t a party hostel so you are pretty much guaranteed a good night’s sleep.  If you do want to party, head to the sister hostel – M Montreal.

Itchy Feet Escapades rates the Montreal Central Hostel 5 out of 5 Itchy Feet.
